DPF Removal for vehicles with additive (EOLYS/ADBLUE)
As with any chip tuning job, a full check around of the vehicle is paramount. After a visual check around, a diagnostic check must be carried out to confirm DTC's logged in the engine ECU. For vehicles that are equipped with an additive system then a diagostic check must be performed on ths system, this is usually in the body computer
AS A MINIMUM REQUIREMENT YOU MUST HAVE A TOOL TO DIAGNOSE / RESET THE ADDITIVE SYSTEM
After the initial scans of both the Engine management system and the Additive system are complete then a summary of the faults must be compiled and methodically worked through.
- For Particle filter faults only in the engine management and no faults stored in the BSI then a standard DTC delete and Filter reset is required before taking a read of the flash.
- For further Engine management DTC's as well as the DPF faults then these will have to be rectified first. It is understood that some faults maybe caused or be the initial cause of the DPF failure. This part of the job is down to you to diagnose and be confident in your work. Just because the Filter is blocked or has failed then this is not justification to assume the DPF delete will fix all of the faults
- For DTC's stored in the additive system, These faults must be rectified before attempting DPF removal. If faults are not checked or just left, the ANTI-POLLUTION signal will remain on the dash. These DTC's have absolutely nothing to do with the DPF delete calibration in the engine management system.
